SEBCoVE
The (“Smart Electricity for Buildings” – SEBCoVE) project objective is to upgrade the role of the VET should play, to cover the needs for agile, resilient, and future-proof VET systems, which can support electricians towards employment, manage their entry to a changing labour market and ensure that they all will have an opportunity to access vocational programs tailored to digital transition. Specifically, the objective of the SEBCoVE project is in line with EU objectives by developing Centres of Vocational Excellence, supporting the Smart Specialisation, embedded in regional skills ecosystems, with the ambition to be world-class reference points for continuing up- and reskilling of professionals engaged in Smart Electricity for Buildings (SEBs) sector and establish an international knowledge hub, VET excellency systems, transferring know-how, for boosting regional development.
The SEBCoVE project addresses the scope by:
- Developing regional Vocational Excellence hubs (CoVEs), in the Smart Electricity for Buildings sector. The CoVEs, will act at the local level in line with the specific Regional Smart Specialisation of their region, initiating multi-stakeholder cooperation and promoting the creation and mobilization of regional skills ecosystems, in which the SEB-COVEs hubs will be embedded.
- Deploying VET excellency in VET procedures, for continuous improvement:
- Adopting EQAVET quality assurance under an umbrella of a Management System per CoVe region and Educational Organization according to ISO 21001 requirements. ISO 21001 is an International Standard that specifies requirements for a Management System for Educational Organizations (EOMS) within larger Organizations whose core business is not education. Through its effective implementation by the involved partners “feedback loops” and learners’ “tracking system” will be established.
- Transparent certification mechanism, under a “micro-credential” approach, assigned “digital badges” and certified under ISO/IEK 17024.
- Pursuing excellence in teaching and learning by:
- Developing new curricula, keeping up-to-date technical skills based on the main EU VET standards according to VET policy recommendations (ESCO, ECVET, EQF), thus supporting transparency and recognition
- Introducing flexible learning pathways, by adopting certifiable blocks of competences to be certified and accumulated towards the main competence acquisition
- Transparent certification mechanism, under a “micro-credential” approach, assigned “digital badges” and certified under ISO/IEK 17024.
- Promoting entrepreneurial attitudes, mind-sets, and skills, in line with the Entrepreneurship Competence Framework (EntreComp);
- Adopting innovative pedagogy by deploying Learner-centred methods including augmented reality applicatins, serious games and anomated video, in the training process of a ubiquitious hybrid learning environment.
- Promoting the acquisition of Digital skills in line with the strategic priorities of the Digital Education Action Plan (2021-2027).
- Integrating the CoVEs in regional skills ecosystems, working closely with other training and education institutions, businesses, and research centres, contributing to regional development in line with Regional Smart Specialisation.
- Promoting internationalization and workers’ mobility ECVET procedures, micro-credentials approach in delivered courses to enhance workers' and learners’ mobility.
